Mission Viejo, California, is located in southern Orange County. It is considered one of the largest master planned communities in the United States. Mission Viejo is nestled in the Saddleback Valley and has a resident population of approximately 93,000. The city covers 18.1 square miles, a large portion of which is taken up by Lake Mission Viejo, an artificial lake in the center of town. Neighboring cities are Laguna Niguel and Laguna Hills on the west, Rancho Santa Margarita and Ladera Ranch on the east, Trabuco Canyon on the northeast, Lake Forest on the northwest and San Juan Capistrano on the south.

The city is ethnically diverse and family-friendly. It has a great public school district and a large population of college-educated residents where many people are homeowners.
